| Prehnite is named after its discoverer, Dutch Colonel,
Hendrick Von Prehn (1733-1785). It was declared a distinct mineral type in
1788. Often found in crystal clusters, in veins of basaltic rock, or growing in
or on granites, syenites, datolite, and a variety of other materials. It is
found in many places including the U.S.A., China, Canada, Australia, Scotland,
and France, and is also known as cape chrysolite and cape emerald.
Called the stone of prophecy, this beautiful green crystal assists with the delivery of messages from the divine. Some find that rubbing prehnite right before sleep aids in remembering dreams. Many find that wearing, or carrying, prehnite has a calming effect on them, while others (like me) find that they are energized. Vibrates to the number 5. |
